I can't say I love Cadillac Records- but I love finding this song from that movie
"My Babe"-Little Walter

Discovered this song while doing the late night shift @ a local country radio station-
"She's No Lady" by Lyle Lovett

I love this song -"Destroy 2000 Years of Culture" by Atari Teenage Riot- sadly I was not playing a venue where I could spin this song

Sometimes timing is everything- was working @ DJ's in Portsmouth when this record dropped- amazing song and great album
"The Devil Made Me Do It"- Paris

Some of the best things are for free

A huge source of discovery was the intriguing documentary Z-Channel-
It got me into a multitude of movies including Cross of Iron
Cross of Iron samples(right click and save)
"Destroy The Myths"
"I Stay Dirty For A Reason"
"War is the Highest Expression"
"Hallucination"

Back in the 1980s when I had little spending money but was still into finding new music I used to check out records from the local library- got into a whole lot of fun.So I was able to experiment and hear everything from smooth jazz from Herbie Hancock -"Spiraling Prism" from Mr Hands to Chicago Blues on different Alligator Records compilations to album cuts from Santana -

here is Written in Sand by Santana

Star Castle/Undisputed by Chris Jericho/Self /Idiocracy/Cannibal Ox

One of my fave games from the early 80s was Star Castle
hypnotic yet simplistic- I spent many hours flying around the rings blowing up the core cannon

If you like pro rasslin- check out the new book by Chris Jericho-Undisputed-great read

Next up an excellent tune from Self- from their great pop album Breakfast with Girls

Great song from the Elevator Drops- saw them as a support act @ the Bait Shack in the mid 90s

Jazz Hermit got me into Cannibal Ox- love this song

If you have not seen Idiocracy-I suggest Netflixing it- good satire-over the top- but fun

a solid build and then bam- Clutch "Binge and Purge" - great live band if you have not seen them and like things on the heavy side

Easy groove funk from Jodeci-

Steel Panther interview

Fun Steel Panther video

Bonecrusher- Akrobatik- introduced to this tune by Omega Jackson

Epic song from a great movie- Cooley High- totally what a score should be- shivers up the spine."it's So Hard To Say Goodbye to Yesterday"-G.C. Cameron

Compilations

Series like the Just Say series from Sire and The Killer Bees comps from Warner Brothers broadened my pallet and provided many songs that I still enjoy to this day

Rat Music For Rat People was another series that captured the national hardcore scene- it included the awesome "History" by Texas band The Big Boys.

A cheap and easy way to sample a genre or a label back in the day was to get a compilation CD or cassette. The 2 Blasting Concept comps put out by SST where invaluable gateways to hardcore for a young new to the genre fan like myself growing up in Franklin County VA.

A Human Certainty by Sacchrine Trust from Blasting Concept

Theme From An Imaginary Western by DC 3 from Blasting Concept

History- The Big Boys

"Mother Valentine"-The Wolfgang Press from the excellent album Queer

Is it me or did Russell Brand look like Weird Al during his lame monologue on SNL?

Audio Junk 2010 Time Capsule- sort of

Dinner For Schucks
Amusing @ times- but not worth getting- if you like absurd over the top comedy-then this is worth a Netflix slot.Paul Rudd and Steve Carrell have some funny moments- but the movie drags in the middle. The DVD has some fun outtakes and deleted scenes.

Feb 21- ROH grappler -Davey Richards

Just finished watching the Nora Clavicle episode of Batman- her way to take over Gotham- support women's rights- then install females in positions of power and police- then attack the city with mice-ingenious- also the episode featured a human knot with Batgirl/Robin & Batman- Batgirl was smoking- but her theme was el-lame-O.

If you have a chance- check out the Something Weird section on the Special Interests from the Free Zone - good mix of stuff-and free- well part of the Cox Cable in demand stuff

One of my fave songs- "Love Mad" by Meat Beat Manifesto from the NOW EP

At one time music was my out - my escape and my world. Then it became my job.Now it is my hobby again.

Music was so much magic- the sonic journey into pleasure and pain.Hiding behind shades and deafened by my walkman I was content to listen.

Here is a tune by Dinosaur Jr- Sideways(right click and save-click and listen) - maybe a bit twee for some-don't care- love this one

This is the second Audio Junk -Sophomore Slump

funny 911 call- enforce the burger
