Star Trek : Into Drabness

The second installment of the original run of Star Trek movies was the peak of the series, just like Empire Strikes Back was the best Star Wars movie. What differentiated the trek series from other action franchises was character development - that was played up over 79 episodes of television and enhanced by great novels like Wounded Sky and Yesterday's Son plus the Log book adaptations of the 20+ animated shows. This glossy second enstallment of the JJ Abrams reboot lacks the passion of the original series and while it looks good and has tons of explosions and almost non-stop action and even a lingerie shot of Doctor Carol Marcus.

This is a shallow echo of the Wrath of Khan and it lacked the over-acting of Ricardo Montalban - although it was funny watching Admiral Robocop go rogue, C-
