Serpico - this 1972 crime drama follows a true story of an honest cop in an dishonest city. Al Pacino portrays an outsider who turned down payoffs and was harassed by his brothers in blue for not playing along. I love the on location photography in this look at New York city when the Big Apple was still a little rotten. The main character is a little hard to take but I imagine his life was terrible when he found out that being a cop was just a legalized way to be a bagman. Currently streaming on Netflix this movie is worth checking out.
